Announcing A2F River Valley’s Musical Guests KAZHA

Kazha is a 3 piece rock band from Japan. Lead singer Kazuha Oda is a classically trained singer born in Japan, spent her childhood in several different countries including Brazil. She started out as a solo singer and recorded over 20 different records/projects from classic to heavy metal music in Japan. She has worked with wide variety of performers including Grammy winner Bob James. Her work has appeared on the iTunes Top 100 charts of numerous countries for a significant amount of time.

After releasing Kazha’s first album “Overture” in 2010, they had their first North America tour (including Mexico) debuting at Asian Heritage Street Celebration in San Francisco playing with the American Hip Hop group “Far East Movement”. Since then, the band have been touring around the world, appearing at various festivals and conventions. Kazha also have been performing at local venues including The World Famous Whiskey A Go Go (Los Angeles) and RockHouse Live (Memphis), sharing stage with musicians such as Gilby Clarke, Lynch Mob, Tantric, LA Guns, and Y&T. In Memphis TN, Kazha is now working on a new project with an engineer Lawrence “Boo” Mitchelle who recently won a Grammy with the song “Up Town Funk” sung by Bruno Mars.

Their music combines the softness of a falling feather and the heaviness of a hurricane. Leah Clark is an American voice actor primarily associated with FUNimation productions. This year she has been heard in the broadcast dubs of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid (Kobayashi); Touken Ranbu (Gokotai); Show By Rock (Ailane); Shonen Maid (Miyako); Fuuka (Suzuka); Alderamin On the Sky (Haroma); Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA (Aria), Keijo (Ayako); Izetta: The Last Witch (Elizabeth), and Yuri On Ice (Mari).

Along with regular voice work at Funimation, her voice can also be heard on industrials and video games. She supports her acting habit by working as a commercial and independent film producer.

Peculiar Cosplayers Will Returns for Another Year!

Peculiar Cosplayers is a growing cosplay group based out of Peculiar, MO. Formed in 2011, the Peculiar Cosplayers have attended a number of conventions, including Naka Kon in Kansas City, Kansas City Comic Con, Planet Comicon, and Cosplacon in Jefferson City. They have a wide array of talents, including prop building, makeup and body painting, and chainmailing. They are excited to be running the Cosplay Classroom at A2F, and look forward to sharing cosplay tips and tricks!

DJ Blay Returns to Spin at A2F Fall 2016

a2f DJ BlayFrom House Parties, clubs, to the convention scene, Blay has seen it all. Starting in his own bedroom, Blay begun with the genres of Happy Hardcore and Hardstyle, but over the first year, he quickly found his true love in House. He continued to push his limits to Dubstep, Trap, Glitch-Hop, and Moombahton. Now the sky is the limit.

Blay has been a resident DJ at Club Push and thrown huge parties at Speakeasy in Fayetteville. He has played many conventions in the North West and Central Arkansas areas and continues to do so currently. He knows exactly how to throw down a mix and mash up your favorite tracks to give a gravitating experience.

After gaining a degree in International Relations, living abroad, and spending two years in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, Gaijin Goombah decided to devote his YouTube career to teaching multiculturalism around the world through the medium of video games.

From recent to retro, he explains a multitude of cultural references found in these games, and how video games can better educate the world about not only different cultures, but also perspectives and ways of thinking. Together with the other Game Theorists, MatPat, Drake, and Ronnie Oni Edwards, Gaijin pursues something more than just mind-rotting in games; Education and understanding of the world we live in.

Spring 2016 Guest: Samantha Cartwright of 5amSam Cosplay

Samantha Cartwright has been actively involved in anime, cosplay, and conventions for twelve years. With a working knowledge of about 200 hundred animes, she has created convention panels, games and participated in many fan-based discussions. She has created cosplay outfits for herself and others. Her latest creation was a commissioned cosplay costume.

Her top Five animes, although difficult to narrow down, are D. Gray-man, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Naruto, and Full Metal Alchemist – but the list can go on and on.

She has created and participated in many different panels and games, including: Cosplay 101, How to survive an Anime Con, Five Nights at Freddy’s (18+), D. Gray-Man, Kuroko no Basketball, Wheel of Anime, Welcome to Night Vale, Cosplay warm up, Cosplay Survival Guide, Ready Set Cosplay, and All About Cosplay.

She and her sister Rachel Cartwright perform as Kashi Shoga (Lyric Gingers). They have been singing together since… forever! You see they are Twins! They sang choral in high school, competed in numerous venues, they have placed in many, and Rachel won the School Idol. Rachel has auditioned for “American Idol” and “The Voice”.

Anime, cosplay, conventions and singing has played a large part of their short lives. They love to spread the joy that Anime has given them, in the hopes of bringing attention to this Grand adventure Called Anime.

Welcome Voice Actress Rachael Messer for A2F Spring 2016!

Rachael Messer is a professional and full time voice actress. She has voice acted in numerous animes, cartoons, video games, radio plays, and commercials. She has worked with FUNimation in animes.

She is currently the voice of Shiara in the new animated tv series “Prince Adventure” along with Christopher Sabat, Vic Mignogna, Chuck Huber, and Todd Haberkorn and many others. She is in Heroes of Newerth, the Teacher in Yanadere Simulator, Wakfu Raiders, a Wii U game called Anima: Gates of Time, Astra in the Xbox game, and over 40 different other games. She also does film and is the leading female role in the new tv series “It’s Just Brunch” with South Parks’ Toby Morton and Peter Bedgood.
